This cauldron would contain "pottage" which would be simmering gently everyday. In the kitchen at Hampton Court. On the table are pots ready for use. Spices and herbs to flavour foods. Richer families eat from pewter plates.
Fire Dogs awaiting the fixing of a spit to roast meat. A Tudor kitchen at Hampton Court. Food was beautifully presented.  Often  the meat would be cooked and the skin replaced for decoration. A selection of Tudor pies.
Pestle and Mortar used to crush foods. Rabbits waiting to be cooked. The spit was placed at different levels to prevent the meat from burning
