Queen Victoria character
Hello, my name is Victoria (well actually Alexandrina Victoria) and I became Queen of the United Kingdom in 1837 when I was 18. My father was Edward and he was the Duke of Kent, a younger brother to George, who ruled the Kingdom when their father, George III was too ill to do so.

Eventually Uncle George became King George IV and reigned for 10 years. When he died, he had no children so the crown went to his younger brother William, who as King William IV reigned for 7 years, before also dying childless. As this meant that I was next in line to the throne, I then became Queen.

My mother's name was Victoria Maria Louisa of Saxe-Coburg in Germany, and her brother was King Leopold of the Belgians. I was born in Kensington Palace, London on the 24th May. When I was 21, I married my cousin Albert Saxe-Coburg Gotha, and over the next 20 years we had 9 children altogether. The British public did not seem to like Albert very much, but I think he eventually won them round.
