A man of the Jewish religion was travelling
down the road from Jerusalem to Jericho.
| In a lonely place, bandits attacked him.
They robbed him of his money and beat him
up. |
After a little while a priest came by.
He saw the man lying there, but did nothing
to help. He just walked past, on the other
side of the road.
Then a Levite (teacher of God's law)
came along. He went and looked at the
man, but he didn't help him either.
But a Samaritan (a religion who were
despised by the Jews), travelling down
the road, stopped when he saw the injured
man.
He gently cleaned and bandaged his cuts,
pity the man on his own donkey and took
him to the nearest inn.
Next day when he had to leave, he gave
the innkeeper some money and told him
to take good care of the Jew.
